Peder Mønsted (b. Grenaa 1859, d. Fredensborg 1941)

Mønsted was a student of Professors Julius Exner and Frederik Vermehren at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1875 to 1879. For a short period in the 1880s he studied under P. S. Krøyer where the present “Model” was painted.
Provenance: The artist's estate auction, Winkel & Magnussen, auction 281, 1941 no. 372. Here acquired by Lau Sunde. Thence by descent.
