Back with cropping instructions in pencil, handwritten editing instructions, remnants of glued note or news telegram and stamped date of newspaper publication (December 5, 1959). Oak wood frame with double glazing. Visible size 22×18 cm. Frame size 32×28 cm.

Known as ‘Satchmo’, Louis Armstrong rose to fame in the 1920s, influencing generations of musicians with his joyous performances and iconic songs like ‘What a Wonderful World’ (1967). No jazz performer was more photogenic than Louis Armstrong.

This is an original b/w silver gelatin press or promotional photograph from 1959, which appears somewhat yellowed. In addition, common signs of handling. Backside heavily yellowed.
