Moscow jeweller 1888-1896
A Russian Art Nouveau “stil modern” diamond- and sapphire-beetle brooch, set with mother-of-pearl, a facetted sapphire, two cabochon black agates and several old-mine-cut and rose-cut diamonds, mounted in 14k gold. Indistinct maker's mark, assayer Anatoli Apollonovich Artsibashev 1888–1896, Moscow town mark, 56 standard. Detachable needle turning the brooch into a pendant. L. 4.3 cm.
