Comprising: 11 dinner plates, 10 deep dinner plates, 10 lunch plates, 12 coffee cups and sauces, 1 tureen, 2 sauce bowls, 1 round bowl, 2 oval deep dishes, L. 21 cm; 2 oval dishes, L. 28 cm; 2 oval dishes, L. 33 cm; 1 oval dish, L. 40 cm and 1 oval dish, L. 47 cm.
Provenance: Gift to Edward Porter Campbell from his brother-in-law, William Walton Murphy. The American president, Abraham Lincoln, appointed him to be consul for the United States in Frankfurt am Main 1861–1869, The statue was ordered from Meissen during this period and sent to Edward Porter Campbell in the United States. Then his descendants, resident in Denmark, until today. Edward Porter Campbell war a lumber merchant, b. 1822 in Randolph, Cattaraugus County, New York, d. 1892 in Pelham, Westchester, New York. Most lived most of his life in Monroe County, Michigan.
