A large carved rose quartz vase with cover, baluster-shaped, with two pairs of peacocks in high relief on the side, handles in the form of dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Late Qing. H. 27 cm. Wooden base included. (2)
Provenance: Director General of the Chinese Postal Service Erik Tollefsen (later named To Lo-sen) 1872–1938. He came to China in 1896 where he was in Customs but later became engaged in the Post Office Services and remained in China until 1932.
