“Santa Maria”. A large solid silver model of the Spanish galleon in full sail, the ship hull with canons, the deck with sailors in period uniforms, on a silver base. Apparently unmarked. Portugal 20th century. Weight 10584 g. H. incl. stand 75 cm. L. c. 85 cm.

A Danish silver test report from Force Technology institute included. XRF test and sampling shows a silver fineness between 91.3–92.5 %.

“Santa Maria” was the largest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus in his first voyage to the “New World” in 1492. The other two ships in this expedition were “Niña” and “Pinta”. “Santa Maria” never returned to Spain as the ship ran aground on Christmas Eve. No authentic copy of the ship exists today, only copies based on assumptions.
