Jakob Tolstrup (b. 1983)
Pondus. Signed Jakob Tolstrup 16 in the bottom. Ceramic with collage and mixed media. H. 27 cm.
Jakob Tolstrup is an artist and illustrator. He has many exhibitions behind him and has recently been part of a project that has created one of the largest outdoor murals in the US. Commenting on the Pondus Project he says: “I have been inspired by Berlin and the old bronze statues of the city, which as the years go by are affected and changed by their surroundings but never disappear. I like the idea that the statues will survive us all. It has been an artistic challenge to paint a figure like Pondus that is already so full of memories. In my childhood, my father used to have a Pondus on his nightstand, so it has been exciting to suddenly work with one myself.”
All the proceeds from the sale of the artwork will go to the Children & Youth Foundation and UNICEF. Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers will waive its usual fee in connection with the sale.
Original condition. No remarks.
