Portrait of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna (1875–1960), daughter of Tsar Alexander III and Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna of Russia. Study. Signed and dated Makarov 1882 (in Cyrillic). Oil and pencil on canvas. 51×44 cm.
Inscribed in Cyrillic on the reverse of the canvas: “Portrait of Grand Duchess Olga”. She lived 1882–1960 and was a younger sister of Grand Duchess Xenia.
Provenance: Acquired by the present owner at Gilleleje Auktioner (Gilleleje Auction Company) in Denmark in the 1980s.
Few smaller retouches. Few peelings/thinner colouring along the frame edges.
