A Danish silver peg tankard with remains of gilding, gilt interior, the hinged cover engraved with flower and leaf border, the centre inserted with coin, encircled by owner's initials and date “Anna Kierstine Bech, Nils Paulsen Bech 1759”, scroll handle with mask, the body with applied cast mask and foliage decoration above the three supports, supports and thumbpiece in the shape of crowned lion with ball. The reverse pricked with later owner's initials AJS JHCD. Maker Claus Otzen, licensed Haderslev 1753–1806. Weight 783 g. H. incl. thumbpiece 20 cm.
