Kai Grunth (b. Frederiksberg 1885, d. Gudhjem 1961)

Grunth studerede i årene 1906–09 på Académie Colarossi i Paris sammen med bl.a. Karl Isakson, Harald Giersing og Amadeo Modigliani. Motivet synes at være fundet ved Arcueil i Paris' sydlige forstæder, med den karakteristiske akvædukt i baggrunden og i mellemgrunden røgsøjlen fra et lokomotiv, der ankommer til stationen Arcueil-Cachan.
