Six carved soap stone figures in shape of inuits. All signed. H. 12–21.5 cm. (6)

Provenance: Preben Schleimann (1940–2021), who from 1965 arranged outfitter and hunting expeditions on the west coast of Greenland at Sisimiut (Holsteinsborg). In 1972, he followed in the footsteps of Knud Rasmussen on “The Great Sled Journey” from Sisimiut to Thule. An expedition of 1600 km along the west coast of Greenland.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Minor damages and chips at the bases. One figure with broken hair, one is enclosed.
