Johan Thomas Lundbye
(b. Kalundborg 1818, d. Bedsted 1848)
Kaalund and J.Th. Lundbye: Fabler for Børn. Cph: P.G. Philipsen 1845. 8vo. With one illustration for each fabel. l. Previous owner's name on frontboard, spine and corners with repairs. Light foxing throughtout. In orig. paper boards. Housed in half morocco box.
The book is inspired by a German children's book, “Fünfzig Fabeln für Kinder”, by W. Hey, illustr. by O. Speckter. At the request of the publisher P.G. Philipsen, Kaalund wrote the text and Lundbye created the illustrations. The book, however, was hard to sell, even later when a wrapper of glazed paper with gold-printing was added.
