Arne Jacobsen (b. Copenhagen 1902, d. s.p. 1971)
A glass picture frame with wood back and metal fittings. H. 70 cm. W. 58 cm.
The picture frame was designed for the iconic SAS hotel in Copenhagen, where Arne Jacobsen designed both the building and the interior. The hotel was completed in 1960. This specific frame has been acquired directly from the SAS Royal Hotel in connection with a renovation of the hotel. The number written on the backside of the frame probably refers to the hotel room where the picture originally hung - room 803. In the black/white photos from hotel rooms in the SAS Royal Hotel from approx. 1960 you can see similar frames decorating the walls.
Normal patina due to age and use, including scratches and marks. Glass with edge chips. Minor crack in side of wood frame.
