A pair of Danish historicist silver saucepans, of circular shape, smooth body with profiled rim, domed lid with artichoke finial on chased and embossed leaves, turned ebony handles, pricked in bottoms with weight statement, resp. “123 lod 3 q 2 Ort” and “126 lod 2 q 2 Ort”. A pair of French historicist silver-plated heat containers, of circular shape, comprising a removable and smooth dish, under which a canister with profiled twin handles, raised on four volute legs with foliage, bottom with air holes. Christofle, Paris 1844–1862. H. 10 cm. W. 33 cm. Diam. 24.5 cm. (8)

Provenance: Vice-consul and merchant Ferdinand Tutein (1788–1880), Copenhagen, and his wife Josepha Tutein, née Siboni (1806–1866), daughter of singer Giuseppe Siboni. Then their son, merchant Frederik Giuseppe Gustav Tutein (1825–1920), Gurrehus Castle. Thence by descents until today. The family Tutein was part of the highest bourgeois class in Denmark

Condition

The saucepans with heat containers are in good condition with minimale wear related to age and use. We have observed:

- some few and light surface scrathes, - interiors of saucepans with a bit more scratches and some wear in bottom, - sauce pans exterior bottoms with a bit more scratches and wear in bottom, - one lidt with a bit uneven under-edge and it does not close perfectly, - one dish with a bit more surfacescratches and a small dent, - both dishes with fiiring marks in bottoms, - containers with a bit loose handles.
