Antiphonary leaves. [France 15th century]. Folio. 8 leaves, foliated (not in orig. order). First leaf with a large, gold leaf decorated, pen-flourished opening initial with matching marginal decorations of red and blue ink. Other leaves with smaller pen-flourished chapter initials of red, blue or black ink, partly filled with yellow or red ink, two black initials each decorated with a face, and rubrications. Text in Latin and sheet music written with black ink in Gothic bookhand on parchment. Bound in 18th centrury soft silk and silver-woven brocade. With signs of wear due to age and use.
