Carl Fabergé and others, Moscow 1892-1893

A pair of Russian Rococo revival silver sauce boats, of bombé form, gilt interior, curved rim with profiles below, chased and embossed with rocaille shells and stylized foliage, trompe l'oeil scrolling handles, on swirling spreading panel feet with partly stippled ground. The one Carl Fabergé, marked with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, assayer Lev Fedorovich Oleks in Moscow 1893, Moscow town mark, 88 standard. The other with maker's mark HB, assayer Alexander Alexeevich Smirnov 1892, Moscow town mark, 88 standard. Weight c. 898 g. and c. 876 g. H. (spout) 13 cm. H. (side) 12.5 cm. H. (handle) 19 cm. L. 24.5 cm. (2).
