In September 1976 Tetsumi Kudo participated in Svend Hansen's exhibition “Death Leap” at Charlottenborg in Copenhagen alongside artists such as Nam June Paik, Daniel Spoerri, Erik Dietmann, Ben Vautier and others. The exhibition catalogue contains a number of texts by the artist: “About machine”, “Between cage and computer painting”, “About cage” and “Entretien avec Kudo” where the artist interviews himself. At the exhibition a series of cages by Kudo was on display, and the offered work is most likely one of these.
