Bound in cont. blind-tooled full leather over wooden boards, with 2 clasps. The binding is restored and has signs of wear. Housed in slipcase. Enclosed transcription of the owner’s inscriptions on flyleaf 1593–1780.
The law of Sealand was first printed in 1505 by Gotfred of Ghemen. In 1576 the Danish book printer Mads Vingaard made an exact reproduction using the original printing types and recutting the woodcuts. The only difference is that the Ghemen-edition did not print the initials, whereas Vingaard did. Thesaurus #169; LN #133.
