Mikhail Pavlovich Ovchinnikov (, St. Petersburg)

A Russian Rococo revival parcel-gilt silver fruit cutlery, comprising twelve forks and twelve knives, chased with birds and foliage in cartouches. Workmaster Mikhail Pavlovich Ovchinnikov, Cyrillic maker's mark MI, assayer Jacob Liapunov in St. Petersburg 1896–1903, 84 standard. Weight c. 850 gr. L. knife 16 cm. L. fork 15 cm. In original oak box with cutlery in two layers, lined with white silk and green velvet. L. 34 cm. (25).

Provenance: Acquired by Erica Zeiner-Henriksen 1922–1927 in St. Petersburg.
