Provenance: John Lennon (1940–1980) and Yoko Ono (b. 1933) rented a house near Fjerritslev in North Jutland, Denmark (Ellidsbølvej 37, Vust) from December 29, 1969, to January 25, 1970. The purpose of the trip was to visit Yoko Ono's daughter from a previous marriage, Kyoko Chan Chox (b. 1963), who at that time was living in the area with her father, Anthony Cox (b. 1937), and his Danish wife. During January – the exact date is unknown – John Lennon visited the store ‘Thisted Musikhus’ at Storegade 3, Thisted, owned by Hans Rudolf Christensen (1930–1993), on at least one occasion, where he signed this single and presented it to the store clerk. After Hans Rudolf Christensen's death, the single was inherited by his three sons, who have now decided to put it up for auction.
This is an original copy of the 1969 Apple single 'The Ballad of John and Yoko'/ 'Old Brown Shoe', which carries the authentic signature of Beatles member John Lennon (1940–1980). Bruun Rasmussen warrants the authenticity.
Paper cover with normal signs of wear/handling, particularly visible on the edges. The single is in good condition.
