An antique Khamseh tribal rug, South Persia. Design of linked rhomb medallions on a red field richly decorated with flowers, botehs and animal motifs surrounded by classical yellow main border. 1880–1910. 360×200 cm.

Provenance: The private Danish collector Karsten Hartmann. Civil engineer Karsten Hartmann Petersen has collected carpets ever since he first visited Iran in 1962, where the seeds were planted for a lifelong fascination with the Persian textile art.
