Kennedy (1917–1963) during a tv and radio broadcast from The Oval Office on March 3, 1962 declaring that the US will resume its nuclear testing in the atmosphere in April, unless an international and foolproof test ban agreement is reached before that time. Back with red notes and publication date (March 5th. 1962). Photo size 20×16.5 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.
The creator of the present image, Cecil W. Stoughton (1920–2008), was the first official presidential photograph in The White House and was trusted with the task of following John F. Kennedy in order to depict his duties as well as his daily life.
This is an original b/w press photograph from 1962, which is missing a corner (upper right) and has minor damages in both left and right side. Furthermore normal signs of handling.
