Unknown photographer: An original English black-and-white press photograph of Winston Churchill (1874–1965) in The Cabinet Room in Downing Street 10. Ca. 1940. The present developing 1969. Back inscribed “Winston Churchill” and dated “24 April 1969”. Photo size 20.5×25.5 cm. Frame size 33×43 cm.

Apart from his political work Churchill also managed to write 37 books (titles) and paint more than 500 paintings. He mainly wrote reference works describing contemporary and historical issues, which brought him the Nobel Prize in literature. Furthermore he was an honorary citizen in the USA.

Condition

This is an original black-and-white photograph from 1969, which shows signs of age and handling. A through-going crack is seen in the left side and two corners have cracks as well (not visible when framed). Back slightly discoloured.
