Unknown photographer: An original b/w press photograph of the English boxer John Wright (1929–2001) fighting against the Irishman Mick McKeon (1923–1987) during the Summer Olympics in London in 1948. Webley Arena. Back with news telegram dated August 13th 1948. Furthermore a Olympic Photo Association stamp, dated 1948. Photo size 20×15 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.

John Alan (“Johnny”) Wright was an English amateur boxer (middleweight), who won a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in London in 1948. This photograh is from that very occasion (semifinal). In the final he lost to Lázló Papp (1926–2003) from Hungary.

Condition

This is an original b/w press photograph from 1948, which shows slightly wavy edges and a yellowed back. Furthermore normal signs of handling.
