Max Ackermann (b. Berlin 1887, d. Bad Liebenzell 1975)

Max Ackermann was a german artist who lived from 1887 to 1975. In the 1920s he was active in Paris where he associated with artist like Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian and Adolf Loos. In the 1930s his art was declared “Degenerate Art” and thereby banned by the nazis. After the Second World War, Ackermann exhibited in West Germany, Paris and Zurich, among other places. In 1957 he was granted the honourary title of Professor.
Examined in frame. The paper has turned slightly brown. Minor glue stain in the upper edge.
