A Chinese Imperial yellow-ground gauze dragon robe (jifu), front and back worked with satin and metal threads with five-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl, nine dragons in total, surrounded by clouds and flames, bats, auspicious Buddhist symbols, above chrashing waves and rocks, collar and cuffs also with dragons amidst clouds on black ground. Guangxu 1875–1908. L. c. 143 cm. W. c. 187 cm.
