Kristian Rosendahl Strunge (b. 1984)

A unique, freestanding sideboard of American walnut and rosewood, joined with hand cut dovetails and decorated with noumerous inlays of European maple. Front with two tambour doors, interior with “floating” drawer with brass keyhole. Sculptural frame with six tapering legs. Designed and made 2019 by cabinetmaker Kristian Rosendahl Strunge. H. 60 cm. L. 160 cm. D. 40 cm.

Provenance: Cabinetmaker's test piece from March 2019. The sideboard was awarded a silver medal - the highest possible achievement for a Danish cabinetmaker.

The design is inspired by Art Nouveau, and celebrates the organic approach to woodworking of cabinetmaker Peder Moos and Finn Juhl's design.
