A German gilt bronze mounted kingwood, sycamore, walnut and marquetry bureau, inlaid overall with floral sprays and swags within scrolled bordered cartouches with rocaille claps, the bombé shaped sloping fall-front enclosing an interior fitted with six shaped drawers similarly inlaid sans traverse and a well enclosing six further drawers and four secret drawers, above a shaped apron and cabriole legs, the angles mounted with foliate bands reaching to foliate-cast clasps and matching sabots, previously with further mounts to the legs. Dredsen, c. 1770. H. 105 cm. W. 87.5 cm. D. 59 cm.
