A Chinese early Ming blue and white reverse “dragon-in-waves” porcelain dish. Scales of the three-clawed sinuous dragon in relief, protruding eyes; sides with bonded lotus blossoms and Greek key trimming. 15th century. Diam. 40 cm.
Provenance: Old Danish private collection. According to information from the Swedish city architect Salomon Sörensen, 1856–1937. Salomon Sörensen was Malmø's architect in the years 1893–1924. He collected Chinese and Japanese art most of his life. However it has not been possible to verify.
