A Roman marble column fragment, carved in elaborate low relief with olive branches, leaves and olives, obliterated in part. Roman Imperial Period, c. 1st-2nd century AD. H. c. 24 cm. Diam. c. 16 cm.

Provenance: J. A. Jerichau (1816–1883). Sold at the Jerichau estate sale in 1884, likely lot 308–317 “Fragments of columns”. Not stated in bill and not checked off in 1884 catalogue, but according to seller in 2003 it was from the Jerichau collection. Professor C. Wilkens (1844–1929). Danish private collection. Acquired at Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner in 2003, auction 727, lot 228.
