Passion for Exclusive Jewellery

Ole Lynggaard (b. 1936) is a Danish goldsmith and designer. As a child, he enjoyed working with his hands, sculpting and drawing. He therefore trained as a goldsmith in Copenhagen in 1953 and then furthered his education at the design school Schwäbisch Gmünd in Germany. In 1957, the newly trained goldsmith left his homeland with a duffel bag over his shoulder. Determined to better himself as a craftsman and designer, he spent five years travelling, working and improving his skills.

Small, Wearable Sculptures in Precious Materials
Ole Lynggaard’s exclusive designs are either lavishly bedecked with white diamonds or clasping large solitaire gemstones in intense colours. His fascination with the organic movements and graphic elegance of animals is clearly evident in several of his iconic pieces of animal jewellery, while floral details and foliage are a major source of inspiration for several of his collections. He is best known for his “Kvist” (Twig), “Gipsy” and “Snakes” collections.

Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen and the Supermodel
Ole Lynggaard has been greatly inspired by the sensual world, nature, and the art and architecture around him. On 1 June 1963, he opened his goldsmith’s workshop in Hellerup and founded the company Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The Lynggaard name has become synonymous with unique Danish craftsmanship and design, and through effective marketing – and the use of campaign icons such as supermodel Helena Christensen – it has succeeded in becoming an internationally recognised and extremely exclusive jewellery brand.
