Two years of online auctions
Many things have changed since 1948 when Arne Bruun Rasmussen opened his auctions house in Bredgade. The auction house in No. 33 has expanded and now commands several departments around the country, the staff has grown considerably, and internationally Bruun Rasmussen is now represented in Sweden, France, Spain and the U.S.
Two years ago, in order to be even more up-to-date and to further strengthen the company’s position on the Danish as well as the foreign auction market, it was decided that Bruun Rasmussen should supplement its well-known traditional auctions with online auctions.
In week 44 of 2004 the first hammer stroke fell at Bruun Rasmussen’s new kind of auction. Physically, the items were located at previews in our Vejle and Harbour departments, respectively, but they were sold in cyberspace.
Bruun Rasmussen did not come up with the idea of online auctions, and so we are neither the first nor the only auction house on this market. In our online auctions, however, we seek to continue what Arne Bruun Rasmussen began in 1948 - a trustworthy presentation of art, antiques, collectibles and distinguished household effects. Every single offered item has been investigated and carefully considered by our competent valuation experts. This ensures that you, as customer, are guaranteed that the estimate and the quality of the item are in order.
It is with this creed in our thoughts that we celebrate the second anniversary of the online auctions. We are pleased to have already had more than 56,600 items under the virtual hammer and we look forward to the many future online auctions.
