A family-owned auction house
Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers is not only one of Scandinavia’s leading auction houses, it’s also one of Denmark’s oldest. When it comes to specialist knowledge, market insight and the valuation of art, antiques, design and collectibles, Bruun Rasmussen offers it all in the form of the expertise of its competent, experienced employees.
It all started on 6 October 1948, when Arne Bruun Rasmussen swung the hammer for the first time in the auction room at Bredgade 33 in Copenhagen. Today, Jesper Bruun Rasmussen stands at the helm of the family-run business, but the next generation, Alexa and Frederik Bruun Rasmussen, are also involved at the auction house. In 2004, the first online auction was launched, and today the auction house has expanded to include departments in Copenhagen and Aarhus and representation in Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the US.

More than 100,000 lots go under the hammer each year at the eight traditional auctions and the daily online auctions, where you can bid on everything from art, antiques, modern design and jewellery to books, coins, stamps, wine and weapons. All of the items up for auction are presented here on the website with a description and photos, and they are also on display at the preview, so you can always come in and see whether an item lives up to your expectations. The date and venue of the preview are shown in the description of the item.
