Art as far as the eye can see…
350 works are set to go under the hammer, and the absolute highlight is Expressionist Max Oppenheimer’s portrait from the interwar period of one of the most distinguished musical virtuosi of his day – violinist Carl Flesch. This is closely followed by the colourful paintings of Walasse Ting, including “I am still the same old virgin” from 1974. Per Kirkeby is represented by his beautiful work “Vibeke, sensommer V” (Vibeke, late summer V) from 1984, among others, and Asger Jorn by “Triumftog” (Triumphal procession) from 1965. Classic modernism is led by Vilhelm Lundstrøm’s still life from 1931, and the auction concludes with a selection of photographic art, including French photographer Robert Doisneau’s photograph of couples on pedalos from 1952.
