Come to the grand finale of this autumn’s international auction at Bredgade tonight, which has modern design on the menu. The auctions gets under way with the sale of 100 or so of Finn Juhl’s iconic classics, including the “Chieftain chair”, the “FJ 45-chair” and “the Poet” – all from the original producer, master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder.

Danish greats
The hammer is set to fall on more than 200 items created by the big names in Danish design history – Finn Juhl, Poul Henningsen, Mogens Lassen, Hans J. Wegner, Poul Kjærholm, Viggo Boesen, Kaare Klint, Arne Jacobsen, Bodil Kjær, Ole Wanscher and Børge Mogensen, to name but a few.

Vilhelm Lauritzen: “Embassy” chandelier. Giant brass chandelier mounted with 36 sockets. Ring adorned with numerous “drum bell” shades of clear glass. Estimate: DKK 75,000.

Frits Henningsen: Winged armchair with matching footstool. Estimate: DKK 200,000-250,000.

Mogens Lassen: “Egypt table”. Unique combined dining table and desk with solid tulip wood top. Folding frame of elm with brass mounting. Estimate: DKK 150,000-200,000.

Hans J. Wegner: Rare armchair with legs of patinated oak. Estimate: DKK 150,000-200,000.

Poul Henningsen: “PH-Tennis lamp”. A pair of rare diagonally hanging pendants. Estimate: DKK 75,000-100.000.
