Buy at Bruun Rasmussen's Auctions

Bruun Rasmussen is Scandinavia’s leading auction house and has the market's top expertise when it comes to valuations, selling and buying at auction.

We have two types of auctions – Live Auction and Online Auction. Here you will find a wide selection of art, design, antiques, jewellery, wristwatches, fashion, wine, coins and stamps of high quality.

Everyone is welcome at our Live Auctions and it’s easy to place a bid. Before bidding at a Live Auction, you must register as a customer at bruun-rasmussen.dk. For assistance with registering, please contact us on +45 8818 1111.

You must be registered and present your photo ID at Reception. You also need to be issued with a bidding card before the auction. To get the auctioneer’s attention when you want to bid on an item, raise your bidding sign, so the auctioneer can see your number.

You can follow the auction live and bid online at bruun-rasmussen.dk. Before placing a live bid for the first time, you’ll need to sign up as a customer and register your debit/credit card. This will take a few minutes, so be sure to do it well in advance of the auction.

You can place your bid at bruun-rasmussen.dk (click on the item in question) up to the start of the auction or, at least 24 hours prior, email your commission bid to bids@bruun-rasmussen.dk or phone +45 8818 1111. An employee at Bruun Rasmussen will bid on your behalf during the auction. 

You have the option of receiving a phone call from an employee at Bruun Rasmussen, who will bid on your behalf during the auction. This service can be booked at bruun-rasmussen.dk (click on the item in question) until three hours before the start of the auction. It can also be booked by emailing bids@bruun-rasmussen.dk or phoning +45 8818 1111 up to 24 hours prior to the auction.

Please note: When bidding on Asian objets d’art at a Live Auction, in some cases you will have to register in advance and pay a deposit.

Before bidding at an Online Auction, log on at bruun-rasmussen.dk using your email address and customer number. If you are not already a customer, you must sign up as a customer and, for security reasons, register your payment information on our website. If you need assistance with registering, please contact us on +45 8818 1111.

Find the item you are interested in at bruun-rasmussen.dk and read the description carefully. You can choose to place your bids individually during the auction or to place a maximum bid.

If you choose to place a maximum bid, we’ll be sure to bid on your behalf until you are the highest bidder or your maximum bid is reached. You can track your bids next to your customer number in the bidding history of a given item.

If you're outbid, we’ll notify you by email or text message.

You have various options to search for the item you’d like to bid on.

Once you’ve found something at bruun-rasmussen.dk that you’re considering bidding on, you can mark it with the heart symbol next to the item to save it to your favourites. When you log in to your personal profile at bruun-rasmussen.dk, you can find the items you’ve marked as favourites under “Bookmarked items”.

Under your personal profile at bruun-rasmussen.dk, you can create a search agent if you’re interested in following selections by a particular artist or designer. We’ll send you a notification when a work by that name comes up for auction.

A Live Auction purchase must be paid for within eight days of the hammer falling. You have three payment options – at one of our departments by debit/credit card or in cash up to DKK 14,999; at bruun-rasmussen.dk under your personal profile; or by bank transfer to Danske Bank. Read more

When purchasing at an Online Auction, immediately after the hammer falls the money is automatically charged to the debit/credit card that you registered before the auction under your personal profile at bruun-rasmussen.dk.

After a Live Auction or an Online Auction, you can collect your purchase within a certain time limit from the address stated in the email we send to you in connection with your purchase.

If you’re unable to collect your purchase yourself, you have a number of options. You can send someone else or a courier who may receive your purchase on presentation of due authorisation. You can also request a quote for transportation via your personal profile at bruun-rasmussen.dk. For small items, you can request shipping. We’ll let you know the cost when you bid on an item.
