Online Auction With The Danish Red Cross Youth

Bruun Rasmussen is once again joining forces with the Danish Red Cross Youth and holding a charity auction to raise funds for vulnerable children and young people. The auction takes place online, and the proceeds of the auction will go towards the activities to improve conditions for vulnerable children and young people. The bidding window is open from 5–14 May.

The Danish Red Cross Youth has held a large number of successful charity auctions since 2015. This year, the works and items have been donated to the auction by specially selected, renowned artists, galleries and furniture and design manufacturers. The fact that the Danish Red Cross Youth has handpicked a number of artists and designers means fewer items up for auction, but those that do feature are of the highest quality.

The Quality Just Keeps Coming

There really is plenty to bid on as the auction features both significant contemporary art and desirable classics. You’ll find furniture, lamps and furnishings from profiled companies with a history including FDB Møbler, Fredericia Furniture, Georg Jensen, House of Finn Juhl, Le Klint, Carl Hansen & Søn, Louis Poulsen and Royal Copenhagen, all known for their top-notch design. Porcelain, earthenware and stoneware, linoleum and silk prints, lithographs, paintings, collages, photographs and sculptures by names such as Martin Bigum, Bjørn Nørgaard, Jonas Pihl, Louise Hindsgaul, Mads Guldager, Mikkel Carl and Pernille Pontoppidan. And from Ole Mathiesen, not just one, but two different watches. Of the many donors, several are regular supporters of the Danish Red Cross Youth.

Bjørn Nørgaard (b. 1947): Global Seat, 2006. Sculpture. Edition 7. Estimate: DKK 15,000.
Christian Lemmerz (b. 1959): Still-life, 2023. Estimate: DKK 30,000.
Mikkel Carl (b. 1976). Those Who Are Awake Have a World in Common, While Each Person Asleep Has a World of Her Own, 2017. Estimate: DKK 28.000.
Wilhelm Freddie (1909-1995). Print, 1940’ies. Estimate: DKK 2,500.

“These are valuable funds that are converted into efforts and activities that make a difference to some of the children and young people most in need. We really hope that people will have the opportunity and desire to submit a bid.”

The Danish Red Cross Youth contributes, among other things, to activities for children and young people in hospital, children exposed to domestic violence staying at crisis centres, and homework cafés in disadvantaged residential areas.
