From Prince Ferdinand and Princess Caroline's Silver Service. A late Empire silver chafing dish, cover and stand, with palmette friezes and gadrooned borders, the dish with two handles, gilt interior, the cover embossed with acanthus foliage, engraved with the Danish Royal Coat of Arms, the stand with detachable circular top-plate, engraved with the Danish Royal Coat of Arms, handles of turned ivory, raised on four paw feet. The reverses engraved with weight Vog 108 3/4 Lod and Vog 169 Lod. Maker Nicolai Christensen, Copenhagen 1829. Weight in total 4137 gr. H. 29 cm. W. incl. handles 33 cm.

Volume I, p. 203–204, mentioned under the maker Nicolai Christensen: “For Prince Ferdinand's wedding in 1829 with King Frederik VI's eldest daughter Princess Caroline, Nicolai Christensen executed - assisted by among others Caspar Julius Worm and Christian Olsen - the very large silver service, the King gave his daughter. After her death as childless in 1881 the service was sold at auction. ”
