P. S. Krøyer (b. Stavanger 1851, d. Skagen 1909)

H. Chr. Christensen, A Catalogue Raisonné of the Works of P. S. Krøyer mentions three moonlight paintings with the same dimensions as above and dated respectively 3, 10 and 11 September 1900. It is very interesting that Krøyer four evenings in the beginning of September sat down on the beach painting the moonlight.
