Peter Hvidt (b. Copenhagen 1916, d. s.p. 1986)
Unique wingback easy chair with elm wood frame. Seat and back upholstered with original, patinated leather, back fitted with buttons. This example made approx. 1943, presumably by cabinetmaker Ludvig Pontoppidan.
Provenance: Danish artist Svend Saabye. The chair was gifted by architect Ole Hagen to his friend painter Svend Saabye in the early 1970s. The chair was situated in Saabye's studio for many years. Hence by descent in the family.
