Finn Juhl (b. Frederiksberg 1912, d. Ordrup 1989)

“FJ 53”. A nutwood easy chair with floating armrests on brass fittings. Sides, seat and back upholstered with grey/white striped wool. Designed 1953. This example made approx. 1960s by cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, not stamped.

Provenance: Present owner's mother was a childhood friend of Hanne Wilhelm Hansen and received this chair as a gift from her. Until then, the chair had been in Finn Juhl and Hanne Wilhelm Hansen's home in Kratvænget, Ordrup.

The model was presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1953.
