A Russian Louis XVI gilt bronze mounted marquetry cylinder bureau, the top with pierced brass gallery, inlaid all over with walnut, sycamore and fruitwood parquetry, the sides and front adorned with flowers, foliage and crowned coat of arms, gilt-tooled green leather writing surface pulling forward to enclose a fitted interior with drawers, above three drawers, square tapering legs ending in gilt bronze sabot. Stamped “R.Z.H”. Late 18th century. H. 117 cm. W. 95 cm. D. 60 cm.

Provenance: Acquired by Richard Zeiner-Henriksen 1922–1927 in St. Petersburg as a present to his wife.
