Frederik Kraft (b. Copenhagen 1823, d. Frederiksberg 1854)

Frederik Kraft was staying in Italy 1851–1853. After his return he exhibited several paintings from Italy, which aroused admiration. Among others “Italian countryside, between Tivoli, near Rome.” That painting's right side with a large group of trees is nearly identical with the group trees in the present painting.
Frederik Kraft died in 1854, only 31 years old.
