Jacob Kjær (b. 1896, d. 1957)
A Cuban mahogany sideboard, top with raised edges. Front with four drawers and two tambour doors, oak interior with adjustable shelves. Handles, shoes and fittings of brass. This example made approx. 1942 by cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær. H. 87 cm. L 152 cm. D. 48 cm.
This sideboard was exhibited at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark, 1942. Literature: Grete Jalk [ed.]: “40 Years of Danish Furniture Design”, vol. 2, p. 173.
