Hans Christian Hansen (b. Odense 1901, d. Hvidovre 1978)

Viggo S. Jørgensen (b. Odense 1902, d. København 1981)

A rare chair with round ash wood legs. Seat and back upholstered with original, patinated leather. This example made approx. 1936 by cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen.

The architects Hans Christian Hansen & Viggo S. Jørgensen designed some distinctly modernistic furniture pieces in the years 1935–1936, very much in the style of Finn Juhl. Shortly after, both architects abandoned furniture design and devoted them selves to solely designing buildings.

The model was presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark, 1936. Model also presented at the World Exposition in Paris 1937, where it received a silver medal.
